Choosing a dog?

Consider

Buying a Mixed Breed

There is nothing wrong with buying a mixed breed dog. When choosing a dog many people are against mixed breeds, and say that they will only buy a dog that is purebred. Mixed breed dogs have a lot to offer. They may not be purebred, but as long as you are not planning on showing the dog it does not really matter. Believe it or not, some mixed breed dogs are becoming very popular. For instance, a Maltipoo and Poodle is known as a Maltipoo. This one of the mixed breed dogs that is quite desirable right now.

If you are interested in buying a dog that cost less consider buying a mixed breed dog. Or consider dog adoption. At most SPCA you can find lots of dogs that need homes. Yes most of these are mixed breed dogs.

When picking a mixed breed dog you consider the same things you do when you buy a purebred. If the dog is not full grown how big will it grow? What dog health issue might it have? Is it good dog breed combination for children? How much will the cost of maintenance be? What is the dog’s temperament and what are the temperaments of its breeds.

So when choosing a dog consider that there is no reason that a mixed breed dogs can not as good as a purebred. They all love you the same! Picking a dog should be about love.

    We have a mixed breed dog from a shelter that we got last year. We’ve never regretted our decision. She’s absolutely adorable and it’s impossible to tell what breeds went into her :)

    Hi Ryan;

    We are sorry it took us so long to get back to you we are all away on conference, but I finally had a break today to read some e-mails so I will try to answer your question.

    The problem is that this photo was chosen by our site developer simply because the photo site it was purchased from identified it was it as being a photo of mixed breed dogs. Mixed breed dogs can be difficult to identify, even more so if all one has is a photo.
    Mixed breed dogs, are the result of random breeding as such, they often have many breeds in their ancestry. In most cases, without knowing the parentage of such a dog anyone trying to identify from appearance alone is just guessing.

    For instance the two photos below show two mixed breed dogs. The one left was parented by a “pure white Sheppard” and a “silver grey Wisenheimer” the entire litter was black. The dog on the right however; was identified by DNA and her predominate heritage is Poodle and Doberman.

    So the very short answer to your question is that we don’t know the exact breed of dog, in the picture. We can guess that it looks very much like an Australian Shepherd. Australian Shepherds come in a variety of colors. This one looks very much like the “Black Tri Australian Shepherds” what it might be mixed with is hard to say.

    Thank you for visiting our site. In the future we will have a breed section on our site, but we are new so we are still putting this site together. We hope you liked what you saw when you visited.

    Thank You
