Puppy Care on a Budget

Puppies are delicate creatures. They require a lot of nurturing and caring so they can grow as healthy dogs. Aside from this, this is the stage where they are most vulnerable to diseases, including fatal ones. As such, it is necessary to give puppies all the attention that they need. But puppy care can be quite expensive, especially if you intend to go all out on it—the priciest toys, top-of-the-line kennel, expensive foods, etc. For those who think that there is no way to cut corners on puppy care, here is good news. It is possible to care for your puppy without hurting your budget.

How? The most expensive part of puppy care is really those trips to the vet when they are seriously sick, and the required treatments to make them better. To avoid these unnecessary expenses, you should make it a point to take your puppy regularly to the vet for general checkups, say, every other month. This will ensure that signs and symptoms are checked early and most of the serious diseases are treated early on as well.

It also helps to consult the vet or study on what vitamins and food your breed of puppy needs, in order to increase its resistance against infections and diseases. Another way to keep your puppy protected against infections is to keep it clean. Take some expert advice on how to bathe, groom, keep your puppy’s teeth clean and also keep his things clean. It’s fairly easy to learn how to do these things safely correctly.

Aside from these things another way to keep your puppy dog healthy is exercise. Learn the amount of exercise the breed of puppy you have needs and make sure he or she gets it.

All these are preventive measures designed to keep your little hairy ball of fun from getting sick. In turn, they will save you from spending too much money on treatments and medicines on puppy care.

4 Tips for Caring for Your Dog

without Blowing Your Budget

The economic crisis has compelled us to cut costs in many ways, even in the way we care for dogs. Is it possible to care for our dogs without going beyond our budget? The answer is yes, if you follow the following tips:

Tip No. 1:

Limit your trip to vet to twice every year. We all know that one dog year is worth about six human years. As such, like humans need to have annual checkups, dogs, too, should pay a visit to the vet twice every year. Regular checkups can help prevent serious ailments from going unchecked, and keep you from spending too much on medicines.

Tip No. 2:

Do away with the pet gym. Spend time crafting your very own workout and exercise routine for your dog. You can consult with your vet and plan the routine with him if you need help, especially with the types of activities that are advisable and not for dogs.

Tip No. 3:

Don’t scrimp on food. Dogs get their nutrition from the nutritional quality of the food that you feed them. Their overall health highly depends on the amount of nutrition that they take in. To keep your dogs healthy, choose meats and their by-products that provide sufficient nutrients. Check out our free list on Dog Food Cautions.

Tip No. 4:

Do the grooming yourself. It takes a little patience to learn this routine. But doing so allows you to save a lot of money that you used to pay for professional grooming.
