BREEDS TO CONSIDER WHEN YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN

Below we have provided a brief list of dog breed that tend to make a good pet for families with small children.  Having said this though, one should never forget that this list of family friendly dog breeds is based on the average dog within the breed, as such it may not apply to a specific dog. Small children most especially toddlers should always be supervised when playing with any dog.

There are in fact many dogs that could do well with older children that are gentle with animals or have had some experience with a dog. For instance you will note that toy dogs are not on this list. This is because some smaller children can inadvertently hurt a tiny dog.
